M. Bison Street Fighter 6 Guide

Want to learn Street Fighter 6's newest champ, M. Bison? Time to dominate your ranks. Get good with these starter tips.

The menacing M. Bison is back! This newest addition to Street Fighter 6 is already making waves. With excellent spacing control, powerful combos, and very good special moves, he's looking very strong in comparison to the rest of the Street Fighter 6 cast.

M. Bison General Tips

  • Double Knee Press (QCF + any kick) is a very strong offensive move, but be careful to not get whiff punished (attacked after you miss). You ideally want to hit them with the tip of this move, because then it will be even safer on block, meaning, they will not be able to score a punish on you
    • You can easily keep up pressure after this hits by using a crouch light kick, or a brief walk back into a heavy punch, which will bait out throws, or maybe a potential dragon punch
    • On Counter Hit, be ready to combo confirm with a light attack
  • Devil Reverse lets you get in, you can throw them right after they block it. Be careful with using Somersault Skull Diver, because if your initial kick approach is blocked, they can jump up and hit you in the air
  • Generally don't Psycho Crusher a whole lot, though it can anti-air and go through projectiles. However, the EX version is safe on block and does not get you into throw range. It's ultimately more of a combo tool
  • Out of Drive Rush, cr.LK into cr.MK is a pretty good option as they combo
  • cr.MP is good at stopping approaches
  • Your forward walking speed is better than most
  • Your cr.HP is a good anti-air, though you have to press it rather early, but it knocks down on hit

Unfortunately, M. Bison is pretty lacking on defense, so having good defensive fundamentals is pretty much required with him.

  • No EX Reversal
  • Slow super reversals
  • Level 1 super is probably your best bet to try to get out of sticky situations
  • If you want to jump and crossup your opponent, j.MK is your go-to button

Generally, after knockdowns, such as from throw, you can go for Drive Rush st.MP, which can help you open up the opponent with a low or overhead followup. They can mash you out of your overhead, though, so if they like to press buttons, go for the low.

M. Bison Sample Combos

  • cr.MP > QCF+KK > QCB+HP
  • cr.MP > QCF+KK > HP (you get a safe jump off this)
  • cr.MP > QCF+KK > MPMK FF (Drive Rush) st.MP > f.HP > QCB+LP

  • HP (Punish Counter) > HK > cr.MP > QCF+KK > QCB+HP

  • HP (Punish Counter) > HK > cr.MP > B (charge) F + MP (costs less meter)
  • HP (Punish Counter) >MPMK FF (Drive Rush) cr.MP > st.MP > cr.MP > QCB+MP

  • j.MK > st. MP > cr. MP > QCB+MP

  • cr.MK > MPMK FF (Drive Rush) > st. MP > cr.HP > QCB+HP

Cash-out combo (requires a bomb to be planted on the opponent)

  • cr.MP > B (charge) F+PP > D (charge) U+K > F+HP > QCB+LP > QCFQCF+HP
